Volleyball’s Lilian LeVan Wins John Fritz Award

Lilian LeVan

Penn State York Volleyball's Lilian LeVan (York Suburban / York, Pennsylvania) is the 2018 John Fritz Sportsmanship Award Winner.

The recipient of the award demonstrates good sportsmanship in that she displays ethical, appropriate, polite and fair behavior while participating in athletic events and as a member of their team. The recipient shall exemplify the Penn State Values (integrity, responsibility, excellence, respect, discovery and community).

The award is named in honor of former Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Commissioner John Fritz, who dedicated 30-plus years of service to Penn State Athletics and demonstrated these qualities.

Like Fritz, Levan, a sophomore majoring in biology, upheld these qualities. Coach Dana Vandergrift was quick to add that she was often seen working with younger players, and was one who never complained but remained very focused. Lilian also serves as a Lion Ambassador representing Penn State York Athletics.

Lilian LeVan (#3) serves during a 3–0 home win over Penn State Scranton October 8, 2018.
